WARNING: SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION AHEAD
Greetings tumblr followers

Normally I would never use this tumblr for my own personal gain but, as some of you who know me know, I am in preproduction on my senior thesis film and have discovered the hard way a hard truth: Films cost money to produce. Alot of money.

We have a great team in place and a great cast but need more of the green to make the film happen.

The film is a Korean War period piece about enemies and the absurdity of war. It is loosely based on stories told to me by my grandfather who was a soldier during the conflict.

I have been working on this film in some form for almost a year now and believe strongly in the project. It will be my last film before I graduate and head off into the real world and I am asking for anyone out there in the tumblrverse to consider making a donation.

The indiegogo campaign only has 7 days left so please take a look and consider contributing. It’s tax deductible and goes to a great cause. Larger donations get great perks as well!

Info on the project and the cast and crew can be found on the indiegogo page by clicking the link above.

For more info, check out the film’s facebook page here:

Thanks so much. Every little bit helps!

Starring Chad Robinson, Norean Shea, Anthony Casertano, Mason Walker and Elizabeth Rosenzweig.

Brilliant, brilliant advice particularly relevant to me right now as I am stressing myself out in preproduction for my senior thesis film.
This has appeared before and I am certainly not the first to post it, but these words of wisdom bear repeating for anyone starting out in the creative/entertainment biz.

Why have I been wasting all this time and money going to film school? All I ever needed is right here in this article.

A Thought From on Set

I’ve noticed that here on set, seemingly normal things like extension cords and clothespins have ridiculously dramatic names. I.e. extension cords are called stingers and clothespins are called bullets. There are other examples, countless actually, long microphones are called shotguns, short light stands are called beefy babies… the list goes on.

I have come to realize that this is the case because we members of a film crew are, by definition, huge nerds, and most of the gear we use is pretty un-exciting on its own as a result, stingers, bullets, beefy babies and shotguns because as nerds, we feel the need to make ourselves look and sound cooler than we are.

Freakin’ nerds.
