I Left LA this morning.
After 3 very interesting months, I packed my bags and loaded up the car for the journey back East, back to New York and back to my real life. I did so with mixed emotions. I am very excited to come home and get started on senior year, but dammit, in spite of myself, I am going to miss LA.
This has certainly been a summer for the books. While it was challenging being out here on the West Coast, barely knowing anyone, throughout the course of the summer, I somehow found my way through this crazy city and learned to love it.
Thank you to everyone who helped me get settled and who reached out to me this past summer. Coming out here and not knowing anyone was hugely daunting and those of you who helped out in the beginning or reconnected at other points through the summer helped make what could have been a very daunting three months, a whole lot of fun.
Wolfgang Petersen and the team over at Radiant Productions are some of the classiest, nicest and most willing to help a bright eyed newcomer such as myself people that I could ever hope to know and I feel so lucky I was granted the opportunity to spend my summer with them.
My improv group and teacher at Second City LA helped make this an incredible summer and I hope I get to work with each and every one of them again someday.
As the summer has drawn to a close and I’ve spoken to people about my departure, the same question keeps coming up “Do you think you’ll come back?” and my honest answer is yes. While I don’t know when or how, I can only hope and assume that at some point, my career will take me back here, and that is a day that I look forward to.
Until then, farewell LA. It’s been real.
I’m out.
